Everyone is still living, although we feel like dog meat. 5 out of 5 of us have it now. None of the kids went to school today and we even have a spare kid who was here for the weekend, but also too sick to move. All of us stayed in our various beds until at least 1 pm yesterday. I was the last one out of my bed and only because I had to go pick up onions, yams and potatoes for the food buyers co-op which I am now in charge of.
Yesterday afternoon consisted of everyone laying on couches and it was about 4 hours later I came to the realization that no one had said a single word in all that time. This morning started with me getting out of bed at 6:30am, drive to the organic potato grower and pick up 563 pounds of potatoes to deliver with the rest of the produce to the food buyers co-op.
Two hundred pounds of onions in the back seat of the truck was a little pugnant after sitting in there all night when I got into the truck this morning. At the potato growers place, I was highly interested in their set-up and quizzed them to no end and promised to be back with a copy of "Down to the Roots" for them as they are trading me alot of cabbage seedlings.
Afterwards I came home and crashed on the sofa/s with everyone else.I called on my printing press. Why does all paperwork in Canada have to be so frustrating for me? I have no idea why something cannot be simple for once (Yes I am doing one of my rare complaining moods). When I ordered the press, it was supposed to be here on the 5th of April. When I ordered it, she told me 3-5 days. I said "REALLY! That is exciting as everything takes at least 30 days to get to me". She says" OH NO! It will not take that long".. well it has been 18 days. I called her and only got her answering machine today. This is a well known household named company, so it is not a fly-by-night business or anything~ ARGH! I have a trade show on Saturday.. *sigh*. I wanted to have the new issues printed up for it.
My boyfriend said he was tired of laying around and felt like beating up some dirt, so he (I have no idea how, as all of us lack energy for doing anything), put the tiller onto the tractor and tilled up the garden. It is a little wet yet and he sunk a bit, but he got the new section tilled up as well.
My order of soaker hoses (5 cases) came in to the store as well and he went and got them as well as pick up more Popsicles and instant chicken soup. I finally got enough energy to go and set up the area for the 61 new chicks tomorrow. I think they will be happy in there. I almost curled up in the corner. My goals for tomorrow are replanting my tomatoes and peppers, start the brassicas and other crops I need to start in the house. Call on the plastic sheeting for the greenhouse, call on the fish and call on the press again.
